It makes quite the difference if you play in AD1, ID1 or KD1.

Eh, WoD use to be quite common in RA / TA but I'd only recommend it now if you're proficient with weapon swapping between a curses and soul reaping set. You kinda need to do that anyway though after the FF nerf to maximize HSR's.
WoD
Faint
Defile D
Rip enchant
Plague sending
Foul feast
Grasping earth or shield bash
Atts: 12 curses / 12 SR / 3 earth (if applicable)
^ Was the more common build.
Now that LC and WK are not as ridiculous for RA I think the old SV curses build works quite nicely, especially for the rampant mind blasters.
Spoil victor
Faint
Defile D or parasitic bond
Enfeeble
Strip enchant (removes attunement + aura)
Grasping earth
Glyph of lesser energy
Or:
SV
Faint
Defile D or parasitic bond
Stripe enchant
Plague sending
Foul feast
GoLE
Atts: 11+2 curses / 12+1 blood / 6+1 SR / 2 earth -or- 10+3 curses / 12+1 blood / 8+1 SR if using FF.

Are blood spikes effective in RA? And if so, does anyone have one that I could use?
I was using a blood build earlier today but it doesn't do much damage. Although with Strip Enchantments cast on monk I could spike if fairly well, but never enough to kill it on my own. I could only kill people 1v1 when they have no selfheal.
I was running something like:
Vamp. Spirit
Life Siphon
Shadow Strike
Dark Pact
barb sig
Signet of Lost Souls
Strip Enchantments
Res Sig
It's really terrible but I like spikes. And ele spike would be cool too if you guys have a good one.

Pgm stands for pro gamer, i'm not sure that monk was ironic; however an hex removal won't save your ass without an healer.

yeh i wonder whats a monk for? keeping you clean, also considering many factors in ra your most likely to face a sync of some sort and ur chances at winning are most likely below 0, and even lucky to make 10 with a no monk team
its better to dish out damage then play turtle
offense is the best defence durr

ID1. Tried KD1 but got called a bad player due to ebon dust aura, came here made thread havent played it since.
superraptors: RA monks don't keep you clean, even when they try there's far too much shutdown to remove without focusing on it completely (or simply too much shutdown to remove at all), they can't keep empathy removed while fending off palm strikers, it's far more effective to use empathic removal to keep you and the other war clean than rely on your monk who's currently being spiked and diversion'd on recharge.
I beat several synchs badly with empathic removal axe, got 10 wins, and used it to win hex-heavy games when my team had no monk.
In case you didn't notice, the build is simply a meta axe template which just happens to be able to remove hexes from multiple party members at once.
PS: If you're using a controversial build, it's best not to ping it every time. The first comment I got about it was positive feedback from a monk who I'd saved from 2 mesmers.
Interestingly, empathic removal is current gvg meta.

Shadow arts 3+1
Critical Strikes 12+1
Nothing new,but with the new buff its a very fast chain.
Maybe in AB and CM you can use flurry to get your elite slot back.
-While I hate assassins, this build is pretty fun to play -

I assume I'm not the only one playing around with boon prot monks again now? I've tried using Offering of Blood, Mantra of Recall, and Melandru's Resilience for my elite so far. OoB seems nice, but the health sac isn't what you need when you're getting wailed on a get low on energy. Mantra doesn't seem to return enough energy to be worth it, but it's cool with Contemplation of Purity. So far I prefer MR.
11+1+1 Prot
10+1 DF
10 Wilderness
Disciples Insignias are cool.
Melandru's Resilience
Reversal of Fortune
Draw Conditions
Guardian
Shielding Hands
Holy Veil
Contemplation of Purity
Divine Boon
I suppose this was already posted quite a few pages back already, but it's much nicer now
Edit: After playing around a bit more, Life Sheath seems like a solid elite, and it frees up two slots for other stuff.

fairly risky, considering wild throw/wild blow/wild strike are part of virtually almost every team in RA or TA. Life sheat is less risky, but you have no e management then, so yeah...

Found a fun way to use Divine Boon, for lulz at least.
Divine Prayers: 12+2
Protection Prayers 10+1
Earth Magic: 8
Glyph of Renewal
Divine Spirit
Guardian
Dissmiss Condition
RoF
Holy Veil
Divine Boon
Kinetic Armor
Bring a 20% ench set for casting Divine Spirit and Kinetic Armor. Apply Divine Boon first and then the rest to let Kinetic armor stay on top. Not the best build, but being lazy feels good.

After playing around in RA a bit more I think I'm the most fond of Life Sheath for the boon protting.
Life Sheath
Guardian
Shielding Hands
Deny Hexes
Divine Spirit
Divine Boon
Power Drain
Waste Not, Want Not
11+1+1 Prot
10+1 DF
10 Insp
Powerdraining diversion and backfire feels good, but I'm sure there are better ways to use those last two slots.

haven't had RA teams that would bring me far in ages (mostly because i dont/didnt RA much till recently), but this morning I got to 25 with a hexway RA team - soul bind n, ss nec, psychic instability dom mes (lost on 26 after another hexway with a r/p specced vs us with pnh) and then later on in the evening, we go as far as 50 consecutives and stop after because i needed a break.
Lesson of the day? Hexes rock ur sox.
x)
On a side note, I haven't played hexway in TA for months, if not years. The irony.
Also, I entered from korean distr and no, it was NOT a synch.

Yeah, a guardian might be useful, especially for our mesmer who kept getting bullsed and trained by prage warr in one of the 2 better teams who were in at the time, but I think that a 1 s cast spell wouldn't stay uninterrupted for long vs a rapid fire turret .
Also, don't act surprised, that's the bar monks run in TA now, I just couldnt be arsed to change it for RA.
Edit: on a side note, the mesmer had grasping earth and no mantra.

Had a lot of fun a couple days ago in RA with a slight variation of a hammer warrior:
Magehunter's Smash
Crushing Blow
Hammer Bash
Bull's Strike
Flail
Enraging Charge
Resurrection Signet
Ether Lord
Hammer 12+1+1
Strength 10+1
Inspiration 8

enduring toxin, BMT, JS, TO, FLS, TF, empathic removal, res
^hex can change but i prefer a cheap/fast one. common (but good) 5-attack combo is a bit faster thanks to BMT buff. empathic is just lovely and ftw. lol JS aoe.
WOTA, golden lotus, golden fang, death blossom, golden phoenix, holy veil, mendtouch, res
^this is quite fast, damaging and spammy thanks to GLS buff. no snare or IMS but this build is best played TAB123454 style. spread DW to everyone. DB~GPS(+aoe)~DB = yellow numbers. keep veil up, clean self as necessary.
go 13CS and as high as you dare with DM. 3 deadly for the first build and 3 prot for the second. energy is never a problem for these, so you should always be on vamp (and ele for warrs).
